About the Role

UNICEF is currently seeking a qualified Information Officer to join their team in Borno State. This role is critical for managing data and information related to nutrition programs in the region.

Educational Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a university degree in one of the following fields, with a strong focus on nutrition:

Nutrition
Public Health
Epidemiology
Statistics
Computer Science / Engineering (with Nutrition application)
Or a related technical field.

Experience & Skills Required

UNICEF is looking for candidates who understand the local context of Northeast Nigeria and have hands-on technical skills.

Professional Experience

Minimum Duration: At least two (2) years of professional experience.
Sector: Must be in public health, nutrition, knowledge management, or data management.
Humanitarian Context: Previous experience working with UN agencies or in a humanitarian relief context is a significant added advantage.

Technical Competencies

Local Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the operational context of Northeast Nigeria is highly desirable.
Data Analysis: Proven experience in collecting, compiling, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative nutrition data.
Visualization: Ability to produce clear graphical presentations of analyzed data.
Reporting: Demonstrated ability to synthesize nutrition-related information into high-quality reports for both technical and non-technical audiences under tight deadlines.
