The West African Smallholder & Medium-Scale Agribusiness Support (WASSMAS) initiative has officially opened applications for its 2025 Agriculture Grant targeting agricultural entrepreneurs in all ECOWAS countries (Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Togo, Niger, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Cabo Verde).
WASSMAS Agriculture Grant Benefits
Successful applicants get a full support package that includes:
- Direct Grant Funding – Up to $10,000 cash injection (no repayment required)
- Specialized Training & Capacity Building – In modern farming techniques, financial management, and climate-smart agriculture
- Technical Assistance – On-farm support, expert consultations, soil testing, and extension services
- Market Access Support – Linkages to off-takers, exporters, and regional buyers
- Equipment & Infrastructure Support – Subsidized or fully funded inputs (varies by value chain)
WASSMAS Agriculture Grant Eligibility Criteria
You qualify if you meet these requirements:
- Operating a small- or medium-scale agribusiness in any ECOWAS country
- Aged 18 years and above
- Actively engaged in crop farming, livestock, fish farming, agro-processing, or integrated systems
- Have a registered or unregistered business (both accepted)
- Able to provide basic proof of farming/activity (photos, farm location, etc.)
Women, youth (18–35), and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply; 30% of slots are reserved.
